A half-day in the footsteps of prehistoric man with the discovery of the Chauvet cave, the oldest decorated cave in the world, and part of the Ardèche gorges.

A LOOK AT PROVENCE

Climb to Chauvet Cave 2 via back roads, passing through pretty hilltop villages in the Ardèche.
Arrival at Chauvet Cave, visit the 250 m² restored cave and its hundreds of animal representations dating back 36,000 years, as well as other areas of the site that offer insight into the life of prehistoric man.
Return via the Pont d’Arc (a 54 m high natural mineral arch) and a section of the Ardèche Gorges and its most impressive viewpoint.
